One of the things I love about The Gentleman is that he, too, has a list of random antiques he wants to one day acquire. One of the items was a Victrola. I have been wanting one foreeeeeeeever! We found one on Craigslist earlier this year, and both (unbeknownst to the other) immediately contacted the seller to make an appointment to come see it. Luckily it hadn’t been sold, and I went over there first to check it out, and he came back with me a few days later to pick it up and take it to its new home in my apartment. The seller was sweet- and gave us the history of it. It was bought in 1921 by her grandfather, who passed it to her father, then to her.
It hasn’t been played much since it’s so loud and you can hear it in the hallway of the building I live in. But it makes a great photo subject!
And of course, Enid had to jump in the shot!
